Roots Farm & Retreat

Roots Farm & Retreat is a shared landscape in Eastern Ontario where land, livelihood, and community meet. We steward 75 acres as a place of possibility, where farmers can root their enterprises and community can gather in creativity, culture, and care.

Through our Not-for-Profit, we cultivate accessible, land-based experiences that support wellness, artistic expression, and meaningful connection. From workshops to cultural gatherings, we create space for people to reconnect, with the earth and with one another.

Through our Cooperative, we provide long-term land access and shared agricultural infrastructure to support emerging and equity-deserving farmers, prioritizing BIPOC, 2SLGBTQ+, and women farmers as they establish, grow, and sustain their own agricultural enterprises.

Together, these two arms of our work intersect on shared land, cultivating resilience, belonging, and a more just and connected food system.
